Gotta Dance is a dance club. Our objective is ‘Fun and exercise through dance in a social setting’. You don’t need to be a great dancer just willing to learn and enjoy having a go. It is open to men and women of all ages (min.16 years) and all nationalities (Sessions will be in English). Each season we will be doing a different style and the aim is to give people the chance to try different types of dancing but all the while having fun and exercise in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. |
We have finished an enjoyable season of Line Dancing under the guidance of Karin Pauly. In our current season (AUTUMN2010) we are learning African Dance led by Tebby Ramasike. The fee for a season is €50 for new members and €40 for existing members. So, if you’re over 16 and Gotta Dance, bring your dancing feet to the next session at 19:30 at Gasperich Church Hall, rue de Gasperich in guess where…..Gasperich! We recommend that people bring comfortable shoes that they can dance in and trousers (preferably not jeans) or skirts. We anticipate finishing dancing at 22:00 and after you’ve danced your little socks off, enjoy a glass of wine as a reward! It should be emphasised that we are not a substitute for taking dancing lessons from a professional dancing school but provide an opportunity for people to try different styles of dancing and encourage you to have a go. Copy of article from 352 magazine and Station.lu that was published after the first night (Thursday 11th December 2007) The moment of truth arrived last Thursday evening when over 30 people attended the Taster session for the new dance club, Gotta Dance. Ann Marie Rogan shared her obvious love of Irish Dancing and Valerie Scott saw her vision for a social dance club take form. Metamorphosis was fast and exciting to watch as the group travelled together past doubt, resulting in dancing their way to the first movement of a reel and after the break, a light jig – the sound itself was lovely. So much so, the writer broke into spontaneous applause! So, well done to all. Together you have all started something which promises to be a great new club. It's rather special to see dreams come true! Lucy-May Gardiner There's still a chance to join in a Taster session for Gotta Dance, the new dance club where this season's dancing style is Irish dancing. So come along to Gasperich Church, rue de Gasperich, Gasperich on Thursday, 18th October 19:30 – 22:00 to find out more. Or, call 621 249 276 or email GottaDance.lu@gmail.com for more information.
